Etna and Taormina Tour 6 /7 Hours
From Catania Terminal Cruise and Catania Town
Etna is the highest terrestrial active volcano on the Eurasian plate. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. You will climb to its summit through vineyards and valleys made of layered lava. At a certain point, you will find yourself in a “lunar” landscape where the predominant view will be the volcanic òava accumulated over the centuries. At about two thousand meters high, you will reach the Silvestri Mountains, two inactive craters. The lower crater is easily accessible and one can also enter inside. You can also try the excursion to the upper crater. It is more tiring and requires a little climbing, but it is worth it: once at the top, you will see the lower crater with its reddish colors and, in the distance, the Gulf of Catania.
Our drivers will take you to the entrance of Taormina, Messina gate. On your own you can visit the Greek theater, Palazzo Corvaja, a long walk along Corso Umberto, the Cathedral and the Belvedere. Time for shopping or to enjoy a Sicilian granita, a cannollo or an ice cream. Return to Catania and drop off.
